A trick I've learned, If i'm really feeling in the dumps is to imagine how I might talk about this period of my life later on in my New York Times Best Selling auto biography. The most interesting chapters, undoubtedly will be the ones that present my struggles and trials as a young adult, and how I overcame them.
Right now I'm reading Tinker in Television which is the autobiography of Grant Tinker; Mary Tyler Moore Productions Executive, NBC and affilated Network Corporate Head Hancho, and former inagural NBC page! It is inspiring and sometimes mind boggling to read how he climbed his way up the corporate ladder, many times to positions he claimed he never wanted or felt he wasn't qualified for. If only we all were presented with such opportunities. "Tinker" is the first of my self improvement I-am-awesome-hire-me homework assignments. While reading it, I can't help but feel like "Gosh, that seemed to happen to him so easy, I MUST be able to accomplish the same". And, hopefully, some day a young aspiring professional will be reading my auto biography and thinking they can too. Perhaps Just a dream...
So, just what is my current status? Well, as always I am fighting the deamons of pessimism and trying hard to look forward. Attempting, sometimes unsuccessfully, to view my previous rejections as opportunities and learn from them. I took a break from applying to focus on my current job a little (novel idea) and I have been reaching out to my co-workers for growth and training. We'll see how far that get's me.

In the mean time i have created some lofty extra curricular goals for myself. My roommates friend is starting a bookclub of which I am very excited about, and I am trying to figure out if I can afford paying for some dance classes (which I feel would be great for me right now).
In other news 80% of my save the dates are in the mail and summer is just around the corner.
See, I can focus on the positive.
BOOK CLUB WOO! Can't wait to host it at our place. I'm trying to figure out what book I'll pick for my selection. xoxo
