Most of the time... whenever I encounter someone in the "industry", I usually bond with them fairly quickly. We share stories, laugh about previous jobs or rediculous exploits that would only be commonplace in Hollywood. Every now and again, though, I meet someone who makes me so very angry to my core and think "you are what is wrong with the entertainment industry"

What color is your coffee mug?
One of the long standing questions of our time... but really, what does your coffee mug say about you?

Great expectations need a vacation too...
Just like you need time off from work, I believe you need time off from job hunting too.

Work and Productivity: Not always one in the same...
Recently I received a mild reprimanding from my boss about my gratuitious internet usage and was told to limit it to my 15 minute and lunch breaks. Some day you will read about me... good things I hope
A trick I've learned, If i'm really feeling in the dumps is to imagine how I might talk about this period of my life later on in my New York Times Best Selling auto biography. The most interesting chapters, undoubtedly will be the ones that present my struggles and trials as a young adult, and how I overcame them.

My Food challenge Update, and others...
A quick re-cap on my current state-of-being: Currently I am doing my best to stay positive and optimistic by focusing on my time away from work as my priority. Right now I would like to say that I am "living for the weekend" and my time at work is just to supplement my life outside of it. I am back in application mode, and doing my best to not get too hung up on one job or another, so far it's working.
Now for an update on my food challenge:

Taking Comfort
Take comfort in knowing today isn't forever
the immediate is not the future
Life is about balancing the highs and the lows
you can't have one without the other
Take comfort in knowing this isn't the worst
that has been but maybe will be
The choice is yours weather to rise or fall
and pick the path that you will lead
...I am my OWN motivation...

An Interesting challenge...
In today's economic climate, people are willing to do almost anything to save money. I have come up with a plan, which has probably been done before and isn't very exciting, but it's worth a shot.
Optimism is a funny thing...
I noticed that recently my posts have been, for the most part, pretty pessimistic. I've always fancied myself a fairly optimistic person, so this recent negative trend just needs to stop. But (like my title suggests) optimism is a funny thing.

The Under/Over Qualified debate
It's no big surprise that landing a job these days is tough. Recent graduates have it harder than they did 15, 10 even just 5 years ago. But we do what we can. We try our best and hope that it lands us some where relatively close to where we would like to be.
Airing out some baggage:
This was supposed to come right after St. Patty's day but... life happens:
Holidays are best spent with family and friends, and I have discovered a whole new reason why.

Things I Miss About School:
I never thought that I would miss GRADES!
In school I hated grades because I always felt like I could never get the right ones. I thought grades were unfair, pointless and an inaccurate portrayal of students.

Living on $10 an hour...
Basically sucks. Not as much as being unemployed, and this, my friends, is a privilege that I need to remind myself of.
So tell me again what you mean by generation WHY?
It has come to my attention that my generation/peer group, whatever you may call it, is under constant observation. The X-ers and the Boomers are anxiously awaiting to see what our next move will be, and how we are going to handle this world once the power shifts. I have similar questions for myself, however they do not harbour as much weight as the questions for my species do.

Generation Why? and who the heck is Pip??
I guess blogging is the cool thing to do now... but then again maybe I have known that all along. I have (count it) 4 blogs to my name (and one measly vlog) all in varrying levels of neglect. Why make another one? Perhaps for the opportunity to start over and actually commit to something or perhaps to simply over take the internet with my presence.
